My favorite music from 2020
A playlist of my favorite songs and Seattle releases from this year.
Fall is technically my favorite season, but the week leading up to the new year is a close second. Part of it is having the collective space to reconnect, reset (LINK), and reflect that helps charge me up. BUT, one of my favorite parts of the final week is the flurry of year-end, best-of lists that take over my social feed.
I know some of you have a gripe against these end of year round-ups. Whether it's subjectivity in ranking 'what's best', or 'every list looks the same', I get it, but I also really love reading through these lists, as there are often a bunch of books, shows, and music I've missed this year. It gives me a chance to put together my playlist for January and my reading list for the quarter of 2021.
So as your wading through the best of lists, I wanted to share three more music playlists with you to cap off the year; a few of my favorite songs from 2020, some of the best tracks released by Seattle artists this year, and collection of songs to guide you through my catalogue:
My favorite songs in 2020
A few notable mentions here; Phoebe Bridgers whose songwriting speaks for itself, EGOISM released a track I found at random and couldn't stop listening to, Frank Ocean released a single that I added to my go-to 'listen while you renovate' playlist.
Seattle music in 2020
Let me preface there is a lot music that is probably missing here. Whenever Silver Torches releases new music, it makes my rotation. My friend Jonathan Warman has been working on a instrumental project outside of his other music projects that is great for meditation. A guy I worked with a songwriting camp, Nathan Nzanga, has really come into his own -- It's worth watching the video that goes along with his new track Enough.

I'd love to hear what you're listening to.
